I recently ran out of windshield washer while driving on a mucky snow melting day. I hadn't checked my level because I'd assumed that such a new car with so many extras would have a low level indicator for the washer fluid. I checked the manual and there is no warning light or indicator at all. I am shocked and disappointed!
I'll keep an eye on it from now on but in our area this is a huge safety issue. You're driving along and go to clean yourwindshield off and suddenly you can't see at all. I used to work with a woman that killed a guy this way. he was changing his tire and she was driving along and went to clean her windshield and suddenly couldn't see. She felt a bump and shortly after heard on the radio that a man had been killed by a hit and run driver. She checked her car, saw the damage and called the police to turn herself in.
